Thread regarding Pearson PLC layoffs

I was laid off from Pearson in 2013

"I have applied for numerous Pearson positions I'm qualified to do, with no luck for an interview or a courteous "We Do Not Want You" letter... Silly me, to think that Pearson would want to help one of their own." I was laid off from Pearson in 2013, and I have also applied for other Pearson jobs without so much as a courtesy of a reply. Speaks volumes. Same to you, Pearson.

Word on the street is that Pearson is drowning and needs client service (Project Managers and Coordinators) desperately. May have leverage to reapply now?

I've been saying it for years! Pearson does not care if you have experience in the company they would rather hire someone who looks good on paper and interviews well that go with a person who has solid performance reviews at Pearson and is qualified for the job. Internal employees don't get follow up emails either. You get a bounce back email stating that they received your application and then nothing. They need to work on creating a corporate culture of hiring from within.

I was laid off in May 2016 and those internal positions within Pearson didn't even give me a courtesy interview or return an email with "position has been filled". Nothing really has changed since 2013 and I am willing to bet the farm that in 3 more years, another person will post a similar thread of lack of internal opportunities.
