Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Action Group

So far we have been posting on this site openly which is good but not very helpful if the other side know what we are doing. Haven we had enough with this stupid company? Do you trust them to see all these discussions?Think about it for a second. What we need is a action group. Background: in 2014 a few car enthusiasts like myself had a problem with a well known car manufacturer and we formed a action group and boy did it work. The mfg paid up and we had them running. Someone that's website savvy can set up the web site which is free and it can be set up in a few min. We can then invite all affected employees to register to a private forum which should be strictly by invitation only. We can use the WWID and other means to validate the members. We should manually approve each registration to ensure the privacy of the forum. The free forum site http://www.yuku.com

What do you guys think? Anyone wants to take the lead here? I am not very good with web site creation but willing to help in any way possible. Lets discuss and then move over to the closed forum and take some real action rather than cry on each other shoulders. We have all the ammo, all we need to gather our thoughts privately and take action.

It says, to be eligible you "lost your job due to no fault of your own", but BK says you lost the job because of poor performance. What do you say?

Nomad 001 - Great idea, but you will probably get a better response if you start a new thread. This thread is so far down the line now, most people are probably not looking here anymore. Just a suggestion.

Anyone interested in Trade Adjustment Assistance (http://www.doleta.gov/tradeact/)? This program offers retraining for those who's job were moved overseas, as mine was recently. A petition for this program may be filed by "Three or more workers in the same firm or subdivision," so I'm looking for 2 or more individuals laid off in 2015 who know, or believe, their position was moved offshore.

Having a kidney transplant is no excuse for missing significant time from work. Most hospitals have wifi now, so he should have been able to login most days. Also, there's a chance that the dude faked the whole procedure. BK needed to take a tough stand.

Anonymous124878, Thanks for sharing. How low is that? I know two people committed suicide at Intel Folsom last year and most people never heard about it. One in the parking lot and another on a weakened at his desk.

Intel employee's are fed up with BK . Most of my friends at work are looking outside Intel, but then we all been labeled.

There is an internal blog with over 38000 internal employee views where he was let go because he had a kidney transplant

Out of his control I guess his kidney didn't perform well enough to allow him to keep his job

Anonymous123429, Her name is Katherine Politis at Risesmart. Ask for her. I had several meetings with her.

As far as why am I on this site still even though I found a job? Well, my former employer couldn't have been more unfair to me and 3000 other engineers. Intel made it almost impossible for us to get rehired by labeling us. That's why. Just trying to make sure it does not happen to you, your family and others.

Anonymous123934 and Anonymous123822, do not worry you are not alone. Most of those on ISP are older (55+) white guys and the reason they're even on the list is they received SSL4 because they are expensive. The reason they are expensive is they've got 15-30 years of experience doing very specialized work and are high performers. However they are costly from a $ and medical standpoint, and once they reach the grade band cap it's better to kick them out and replace them with younger, cheaper talent. There's a whole chart showing the distribution of the laid off folks by age range, vs. overall employees. I was shocked when I saw it, then even more shocked when I found out who had been let go. They're not bad performers, they're just older and more expensive.

I thought for sure some of the questionable engrs in my group were going to be on ISP, but I was even more surprised by high contributing guys were put on ISP instead. Says a lot about the selection process. Definitely not low performance based.

Before selected for ISP, I never felt behind or was told so when competing with my colleagues. When I read through some of threads on this site, I can see many excellent people experiencing the same as I did. I feel much more better knowing that I have a company of these people. I respect those people who are honest and compassionate and are even able to act and lead. Din seems to be one of them. I will definitely join the group.

Anonymous123429, which Risesmart resume writer/consultant did you get? Mine "barely" spends 30 minutes a week with me and it's mostly lip service and has been totally useless so far. I'm contemplating paying a real resume writer as the Risesmart one isn't landing me many hits on linked in.

So you just got a new job and instead of focusing your energy on being great at the new job and new company, you want to spend your energy on a side project to sue your former employer. Some of you guys are making Intel look smart by letting you go. The sad thing is that a few bad seed are making it hard for others to find new jobs.

Anonymous123127, thank you. RiseSmart is very good. Use it guys. They helped with my resume for two different positions, cover letter and we were meeting weekly until this week when I got my job offer is when I called it quit. I highly encourage everyone to use them. It's free guys. Also, you will always have access to their webinars and site. I learned a lot from them. Lots of good BKMS on their site.

With so much chatter about suing, etc, by ISP people but I see no action. Getting to think there is some merit to the underperformers tag.

My recommendation: Meet somewhere between AZ and Oregon (my home in Folsom area is an option). Show your Intel exit doc's before you are invited via email, exchange info and form the group. We can then meet weekly using Skype. Any other idea's? You are more than welcome to Vette my email just let me know how to do that.

II was exactly thinking about this and form an action group as suggested with proper vetting to ensure, there are no moles. Intel does and is following the posting. I have no expertise in web development etc. There are things I know where Intel can be subject public embarrassment and regulatory exposure besides variety of other violations quietly swept under the rug.

I can guide this group on EEOC filings and state DOL complaints. You have 300 hundred days to file EEOC complaint- one should make it specific. If you signed the release, Intel may use it in their defense, but there are certain claims that this waiver will not apply. This waiver is void abinitio, as the very reason for this ISP was on concocted grounds.

May be we should meet first a handful, after vetting each other but I dont how we will initiate that and ensuring no mole or double agent is involved at this initial meeting.

Moving people off this site to a more private site is a good idea. If you can get 1/2 the people there, not IR folks, you can use your minds to find a law firm to go after Intel with a class action lawsuit.

Why do Intel management care what you are going through? Are you hoping they would feel sorry and take you back? This is a helpful forum but is not enough; I agree on the idea of forming an action group. I'll join and do whatever I can to help get back our reputation and dignity.
