Heard rumours that Target.com engineering will run completely out of Bangalore office. Is that true?

Former Target.com digital person here (way back when it was called something else).
I find it hard to believe that. It's not that the work CAN'T be done there, and much of it is done there in fact. It's that anything that involves creative get's clomped up in Target's bizarre funhouse culture which is existentially incompatible with doing this kind of work by remote control. That's the best way I can distill a bunch of complex truths in one itty bitty sentence, so apologies if it sounds dismissive. The more you use the word India in your projects, the more somebody in planning is going to threaten to increase the use of vendors. That's just one example out of a million.
India's got cheap labor bitches! Why won't they
Pass the post-it note....
I agree.Minneapolis weather is big concern. If they are not local to Minneapolis area, it is very hard to get used to this weather ( Almost 9 months in a year at home). Good developers have many options across the country rather than going through the bureaucracy of KMG in the digital space at Target. They are so many KMG's in TTS digital space who does not share anything about what is happening around and cant even define (Dont even have a clue on defining Career path) for the engineers in digital.
Run state for Digital
The problem with good developers is that half the time they come from foreign countries. Once they live their first winter in Minneapolis, they want the hell out. Back to California, or even to Kansas. Very few talented foreign software developers actually stay in the Twin Cities for long. Yes, move everything to India and ask them to bring us the recipe of real Tikka Masala next time they fly over to MSP.
And if you believe that, I've got some great land for sale in Florida - any takers?
I'm pretty sure Target has ruined their reputation in Minneapolis for hiring prospective engineers. They have no where else to turn except India.
6 months ago it was all moving to Minneapolis
Can't be 100% Agile if not all in one place...so of course it will be.
