glass door is a stupid place to evaluate the company, salary figures are highly inaccurate. I challenge they pay higher salary to qualcomm offcourse place is much cheaper 3000 sq ft home you get it for 320k.
Let's check Glassdoor to see how great Dot Hill is:
Compensation slightly lower than average, can be really stressful at times (especially right before product release).
Training is effectively non-existent, so I hope you learn fast.
(Very) small percentage of senior-level+ engineers seem to have achieved their job titles by a long employment at Dot Hill rather than through technical skills and leadership, so there is a mismatch between job title and level of responsibility.
Product development is disorganized
Middle management myopically uses bug fixes as the sole measure of engineering productivity.
Zero repercussions for poor management decisions.
Advice to Management
Stop micro management. Start empowering people so that they can gain confidence in what they are doing and would know, on their own, when to push their limits.
Sounds like a winner to me. Maybe the pay is good
Software Engineer: Base Salary $75,570 (This salary is -16% below the national average)
Sorry but Top Performers aren't touching this.
