Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Does the 31st work for everybody?

Does the 31st work for everybody? Quick and dirty mass layoff, at least it is payday! I expect a layoff or show up one day and no one can get in any if the buildings.

LOL at "that self righteous founder". You must be still wiping up AKMs behind! Actually all AKM would have done is BORROW EVEN MORE MONEY and used "smoke and mirror deals" to keep his corporate drones believing CHK was the best in the industry.....when they are (and aways have been) the worst performing company in the industry.

122531 - you did screw the landowners over. You were doing it for years.

Sucks to be you, the chickens have come home to roost.

"Dick Drainer" Doug Lawler...what a disappointment he's been. It's shameful really...does he still make $14 mil a year???

Got CHK those fabulous assets you work. Your man can't find his @$$ with both hands. And at this point, AKM probably could have made a few deals (JVs, sales) that your man hasn't been able to. I know the stock price would have faired better. AKM would have been out in front of analysts, not hiding in the crystal tower on campus! What a joke!

Let's correct a few things -

The royality mess is an Aubrey cluster. Can't blame the current mgmt for that mess.

DVN doesn't have half as many employees - they have more than 1000 more.

DVN is also more oil than CHK. CHK working towards correcting.

DVN can't grow production without acquisitions. They have crap assists.

DVN doesn't have a self righteous founder that completely made a mess of things.

I do agree $ is being spent on stupid crap. What's up with this stupid coin?? Stupidest thing EVER!!

Easy there. Devon stock price is only 6x ours and they were at this same price level just the other day. Ooops, that was in September of 1992 when oil was $20/bbl.

Seems like a good date. Statistically, people respond to bad news better on Fridays and that would allow Dougie to boast about an additional $250M in payroll savings at the bug August 5th call.

Devon has half the employees we do and does better as a company.

Definitely need an upper management shakedown! The unnecessary spending we do is just outrageous! I would love to know who screwed the bonds up that cost us hundreds of millions of dollars. The company talks about Core Values but then we pay millions in a settlement with land owners that think we screwed them over?! It only takes one settlement for other land owners to jump on the bandwagon!

Is there another town hall scheduled?

CHK should be no more than 500 employees.

Works for me. I can't wait for another pep talk in the town hall. We do not need 3500 employees at OKC campus. So much fat to be cut.
