Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Cost cutting measures of Qualcomm instead of laying off people

  • Rent out empty offices, Put two people in one room regardless of title to free up more offices

  • Rent cafeteria, meeting rooms for outsiders when not being used

  • No matching of charity or donation

  • Remove all clubs (Volleyball, chess, hiking club etc). They cost time and money.

  • Every body from Senior Staff to VP, gets 10% pay cut, no more bonus/RSUs until we get more customers

  • No free soda/ treats from Admin / coffee etc

  • No movie screenings

  • Cut discretionary travel

  • Remove Qualcomm health center

  • Office Audit and garage sale of unused equipment like monitors, computers, HDMI cables, SD Cards..

  • No more training and inviting people from other places

Not draconian enough. somebody else had far better idea of QBucks. No more getting paid in dollars. Only internal currency to be used at internal stores, with exchange rate set by The Company depending on Company performance. Can even have exchange rates set based on individual performance. PIP would mean hyperinflation of your personal currency.
