PIP: Path Into Parting. It is basically current Q way that allows managers to fabricate some fake subjective excuses to terminate employees and reduce head count silently. It can be something that isn't possible to accomplish within the given time or something that its final results have dependency on other groups that you don't have control or something that it isn't even in your job description. And it doesn't matter how much you come up with technical convincing reasonable logical arguments with HR as their job is not to take your side.
"PIP" is the sound a zit makes when it's popped. It's quite similar to the sound the relaxed sphincter makes when a person passes gas while sleeping.

PIP stands for Performance Improvement Plan. It is being increasingly utilized by QC HR and Managers to allege that an employee's performance does not meet the minimum requirements of their job function and if they do not meet certain often impossible goals they are terminated. It is currently being utilized by Qualcomm to terminate employees and at the same time keep the total number of reductions in force at Qualcomm under the radar. Once you are placed on a PIP you can be expected to be terminated.
