Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

I think we need to re-take the BTS...

I was honest and authentic with you, Target Execs. If even half of the team did the same, there is no way you can spin the results as being essentially favorable. Clearly you do not ascribe to the happy employees = successful business equation. The Target Team is a constant state of fear. Where will Brian wield his mighty axe next? They are not cutting poor performers. If they think your job can be done in India, kiss it good bye--no matter how well you perform your duties. Senior Management is all about the bottom line and raising the stock price in the short term. Brian will move his slash & burn Karaoke hour to the next company in a couple years and then we will see what's left. Do I think Target has needed to change? Hell, yeah. But there's got to be a better way to do it. Management still seems too top heavy and Brian and his choppin' buddy John have done nothing to dispel the transformation/layoff association.

I guess it wouldn't matter if I re-took the BTS. My voice is not one you want to hear, my story isn't one you want to acknowledge. I have loved my job, my team, and Target. I will continue to work hard towards this company's success until I get my own 9 AM meeting invite.

BTS was a joke and a waste of time. Glassdoor has better insight into how the organization is working out.

109127, I don't have a problem with my team, my manager, his manager, or even the director. There is something systemically wrong with the organization and it won't be solved with team building, GTKYs, or off sites. It's the same arrogance of leadership that made us rush into Canada like fools. It's the lie that management wants us to be authentic and hear our stories and include us. They want to hear yes, yes, yes. It probably wouldn't matter if you had answered honestly because that is not the message they are pretending to hear. If I make it through to next year's survey, I will not bother to respond. (Original Poster)

109115: I was not honest on mine but it had nothing to do with the 'transformation'. I said everything was great in order to cut down on the foolishness of team off-sites that never resulted in meaningful change; they were just charades and ''To-Do's"; tasks the manager would report to her leader. I'd rather be doing TGT work than pretend we were working on 'óur' issues..... I sincerely love the work I do at TGT; I consider it a privilege to be engaged with such interesting work and I enjoy the outstanding people I work with across multiple teams and pyramids, both employees and contractors alike. I can subjugate the desire to share my voice/be my authentic self, blah, blah, blah, if it will allow me to focus and keep my shoulder to the wheel. Maybe your manager responds thoughtfully and constructively to criticism - mine whines. I'm going to continue to love my work and avoid time-sucking navel gazing until the day I get my 9:00 AM meeting notice (which shouldn't take long now that Mac is here). Then I can only hope I will find such rewarding work elsewhere. Sorry to be offering such a different view.

Agreed - I was brutally honest on mine also and have a hard time believing that others didn't do the same.
