So it seems some seem to be confused over who I was addressing with my original post. If you (like me) are here to try to keep on WTF is happening, this is not about you. If you (like me) are here to vent about what's wrong with our workplace, this is not about you. OP: There are plenty of places where you can cheer on ol' Bullseye: Yammer, FNM, the C-Suite at HQ (bring your own knee pads). This site is meant for information, rumors, and general scuttlebutt on upcoming layoffs. And yes, it's also used for some healthy venting of frustrations. If you don't like it, I suggest you log off, stop acting all bu++hurt, and get back to work.

People will tend to do what is in their own self interest. They will do what they are incented to do. That's not selfishness, it's just human behavior. Our top execs are incented to make changes like reorgs and layoffs because the board is asking them to make these changes...and why wouldn't you? Their incented to keep their million dollar salaries. Similarly, many folks will stay at a job they don't particularly like because the pay is good and they are motivated by self interest (and/or fear of the unknown) to do so. Griping in a message board is just a hobby and a way to blow off steam as we wait for the inertia of bad decision-making to catch up with us all.

Well OP then practice what you are preaching. Keep your nose to the grindstone and work and don't worry about this site and what is being said - or you can leave.

Some of us deserve to vent a bit because we have built relationships with many of those let go. Many were very talented and their knowledge cannot be replace. There are a few stages to the grieving process - let those that need to go through the process and don't be so critical. If no one is complaining to you in person, then for sure stop coming to this site if it bothers you so much. No one is forcing you to come here and read what is going on. Once you learn how to cut thru the B.S. on this site, it has been of value in at least identifying and getting information out in an environment that does not keep it's employees informed.

Let me take a guess and profile you. You are male, under 26, have a solution for everything, no wife, no kids. Remember, some of us have put decades into the company and were very successful and just want to be that way again. So once you figure out that the world doesn't revolve around you, you can write your self a story, assign it to a sprint, implement it as a new feature to your personality and then kiss my @$$ you young punk know-it-all
