The axe fell in Rio Rancho this week but and the axe bounced up, doing a few twirls and coming down again.
Same here. Never heard the word poor performance. My managers 'recognition' with SSL-4 in the last year did me in too. But when he reviewed the focal last year all he said was - good year, successful performance..keep up the good work....Thank You!
July 15 is my last day too. I too never received or heard the words "Poor Performance" while working at Intel. Not until my manager used those words to lay me off. The legal issue here is Intel can not ever show I didn't do my job, never show they counseled me, never show I wasn't successful in any endeavor I've ever done at Intel, but now they tell me "Poor Performance" because apparently I was given an SSL4 sometime in the last 2 years. To be honest, I thought Intel was getting cheap and cutting back on stocks with their employees. The damage done here, Intel has announced to the world they got rid of the "poor performers" and now it will be difficult to get a job.
Affected employees are supposed to be notified ASAP this week. I know two long-time employees that got their letters already. Both have termination dates of July 15.
Also a saw some info about European employee separation package/buyout. It's much bigger due to their labor Laws. In some countries, the minimum buyout is 8 months pay.
