Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

Denver Oil & Gas Community

At one time EnCana was recognized as the employer of last resort in Denver. No longer... now Noble Energy is has taken their place. No one who has options wants to work for Noble. They have taken the top spot as employer of last resort in Denver.

Encana was terrible. Managers chosen by gender instead of merit. I bet most of the employees voted for the very people trying to rid the world of oil and gas exploration. Reap what you sow

Noble is the most unorganized company I have ever worked for. My manager has no idea what she is doing. I will be looking to move as soon as possible.

You won't see this company on any lists as the best company to work for in Denver. Even the people who are left hate working there.

They are for sure the K-Mart of all Oil & Gas companies. You want cheap data & management along with low salary go work for Noble K-Mart Oil & Gas

Exactly, it is a "bad scene man!" But Noble's senior management doesn't care about the dysfunctional environment they've created, after all it was "By Design." They live in "GAP" space where "there is no such thing as reality." They'll just spin their cynical yarns about "Best In Class" while cashing in on their stock options. And they'll get away with it too. All they need to do is keep the Wall Street analysts happy and the analysts are happiest when management appears proactive at controlling staffing costs. When market conditions improve and they need more people they'll find them, even if they don't they'll say they did. That's what "Break Through Thinking" is all about, just say that it is and it will be. It'll be just like they've done with their prospect inventory.

They should care... but maybe not. Their geoscience team has lost so many quality folks over the past two years. Those people have been leaving like crazy. They are hard to replace and they also have options... they won't be going to Noble. Senior industry people want nothing to do with Noble. Employees at Noble don't trust the management team... why would they? It's a bad scene man!
