If you already know their game they can't make you quit. Sticks and stones they don't have. They make up stats, use the metric of the week, they will find the one out of a thousand you are bad at: WHATEVER! just smile in their face, collect your check, be honest, do the job you know you were hired to do. Their chances of firing you drop to ZERO and if they close your store (which is most likely for all reading this) they will be legally obligated to pay you the published severance in the handbook! In the meantime laugh at them because they really wanted you to quit. You won they lost. Laugh at them because they really are not very smart people. Yes they earn huge bonus dollars but they have become the laughing stock in the entire retail industry. Otis, Demos, Ron and a few others have etched an indelible legacy of audacity, ignorance and narcissism. Otis in particular is all three. What a pompous jerk. I have forgotten more about retail than he will ever know, but I digress. The ship will sink. Just make sure you force them to throw you the life preserver and laugh in their face as the door closes.

@Anonymous98486 - very informative... Thanks
Over the past year
Over what time period? Many were let go two years ago when they eliminated the Operations manager position in tier 3 and 4 stores. Since then they have been going after GMs and SMs they feel make to much. Of the approx. 50 managers (AM,GM and DM) that I knew personally two years ago in the North East region only about 12 (25%) are still with the company. Then there are those I did not know, but heard of their departure. That figure is also about 25%. RVP Vinnie Servello has a hit list and is pretty thorough. Even if he can't find an excuse to fire someone he will make their job hell until they decide to quit.
