Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Non-compete clause

I am still at Target and have been looking for work elsewhere and just recently found a job externally for better pay. Unfortunately, I would be working on a Target account for a competitor and my director would not give me the Vendor Exception Approval. You just told us there will be more layoffs yet you won't let me go work elsewhere where I would be paid more??

Just take the job. Unless your a Director or above i seriously doubt that Target will challenge where you go. Or better yet, don't announce where you are going.

It's the Vendor Non-Compete form we all signed, at least in Merchandising. You cannot work on a vendor account supporting Target for two years after you leave Target unless you get a written approval from leadership. Almost unheard of for current team members.

Anonymous98183, L'Oreal is a vendor/supplier. How are they a competitor of Target?

Anonymous98071 - Working at a Competitor on their Target Account. Ex: Working at L'Oreal supporting Target.

"...working on a Target account for a competitor.." ? That doesn't make sense. Plenty of people leave to Amazon, Kohl's, etc...
