For those of you who did not hear Chevy's speach in the townhall. He has no responsibility or accountability for data being good in SAP. It's all our fault. Grow up dude, you're a lead. Where is your leadership? Embarrassing.

IT has a ton of accountability even though they like to run from it and hide behind "oh we just wanted to serve the business by giving them anything they want" excuse. IT has created a nightmare of a mess of countless useless databases, software and custom solutions without ever trying to streamline and facilitate a better IT organization. The senior management of IT should be held accountable for creating a hodgepodge MESS of an IT environment. But no one will call that spade a spade. So we will let this same group of folks create the new environment. That's complete stupidity.
The responsibility and accountability is not and should not be on anyone but those that enter and use the data. So getting angry at Chevy for stating the obvious is ridiculous....

I wouldnt put the blame squarely on IT. They were attempting to keep up with the business and the business was only concerned with speed. The business wanted nothing to do with doing things correctly and I'm not too sure they do today either. I would however agree that I'm not to sure the IT leadership is the right team to pull us through this current mess.

CHK IT = creators of the existing mess!!!!!! And - we are really going to let the same folks screw up the new SAP environment? That is as insane as leaving all the same finance people who created the financial mess with AKM in place. A new and improved CHK will only happen when both of those departments are cleaned OUT like the other areas of CHK have been!

Oh for the love of God, stop acting like Chevy is the first person at CHK to not take responsibility for the failure of the jacked up data. The entire company doesn't take responsibility! And there's so many people changing the data and not documenting what their changing. There's no way he could keep up with that and I'm sure his comment was basically saying the SAP project is a failure because everyone at CHK is more concerned with politics than actually creating a better company.
