Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

People have said Tuesday June 16th may bring more TGT lay-offs - Oh, Magic Eight Ball, what do you see?

Is this mere rumor-mongering or is there something to base the rumor on?

In response to "it'll be ok", I couldn't agree more except all the great companies that have/are hiring Ex-target employees have limited positions open. It will take persistence to get a new job. For those in BPO COE, like myself, that are laid off today, get busy on LinkedIn & Indeed.

I was told my position was going to eliminated as of July 11th, not exactly laid off but since I am at store level I would be moved to another work center but hours would definitely be impacted!!!

I've heard from credible folks that Wed this week is likely the day. It sounds like this round will impact CoEs that haven't yet been impacted. It seems like TTS is 'safe' for now. The large rooms going offline and hearing that some have been told they're 'safe' tells me this is happening.

I was impacted earlier this year. All of my peers and most of my team was also impacted. A majority have now landed great jobs at great companies. Employers look upon those impacted favorably and understand the decisions made by Target aren't about the individual but about the broader business.

If you're impacted, take the necessary time to work through the emotions (like the grieving process). Once you're ready, leverage the services provided, including Right Mgmt and the MN Dislocated Worker Program. Both are very helpful in their own ways. The Dislocated Worker program has funding to pay for courses and certifications such as PMP. Leverage the resources!

For those not impacted...use this as a time to shine. Show what you can do. Team members I know who are still there and are on impacted teams have found the empowerment to be significantly greater than before. They are really liking it! Target will pull through and will be a stronger company because of it. Be a part of the transformation! If you aren't up for it, then quit complaining and quit the company. Don't think you're 'sticking it to them' because to be honest, everybody is replaceable. Leave of it's right for YOU, but don't leave out of anger or spite.

God bless.

This will not happen Tuesday as the executives will be hosting " The Q". Wednesday seems plausible as CRE as taken a few of the larger 2nd floor conference room offline for the day across all buildings.

I've heard Monday or Tuesday. Only based on hearing it from people that have been fairly accurate in the past. I've given up on guessing. It will happen when it happens
