We have a team... More than one person... Devoted to this craps and it's their only job?!?!?!? And they weren't laid off??? Consultants really didn't get anything right did they...
So there is an actual team that exists only to plan and execute FNM. Why haven't any of them confirmed or denied this yet?

I also overheard this being discussed in the TPS Great Hall earlier this week.
I hope that it is cancelled because watching forced applause is not inspiring.
Just watch an agent for Taylor Swift read this and then cancel her appearance. And if it's a joke we'll get stuck with Brian Cornell karaoke hour.
The non-exempts in my area don't get to go to the FNM. I would gladly give my ticket to an hourly TM who wants to attend and I wish this would be an option this year. I get it that it sounds like people are being 'spoiled' when they scoff at the chance to attend an event like this but people have different tastes in things; I find hours of self-congratulations followed up by music I would never voluntarily listen to to be nerve wracking. Let me give my ticket to someone who wants to go. People who want to be there will make a better audience.
And just maybe this will be the first year the dress code isn't red and khaki... It seems like, with such a steadfast march towards transformation, that the team culture that Target created is quickly falling apart and executives are doing nothing to stop it. When will Team Member appreciation, for Stores and HQ, become more than just a late Thursday afternoon email? How do you rebuild a team after tearing down the culture?
Spoiled rotten TGT team members... complaining that you get to see free concerts, half day not working... Meanwhile your leadership got your stock to 10 year high .. Celebrate that !
A plain old concert would be better. That's the only really interesting party. The rest could be sent in an email or published as videos.
The Fall National Meeting is challenge to be the best a Target ever......
Treat it as a challenge to be creative and inspirational. This is the best day of the year for a TGT Team Member, and a true leader.....,
People who complain that there isn't enough free crap given away anymore in the goodie bag make me want to vomit.
I was forced to go last year and cut out during the intermission - made me want to vomit; what a gross waste of money and then to be so boring on top of it. I'm sure this post is just trying to stir up a fuss but it would please me if this were true... focus people, focus.
According to a recent Inside TGT post this is scheduled for Wed Sept 16. Not sure where you heard this is cancelled.
Any National Meeting was a total waste of time for TMs. Money wasted on hotels, buses, air travel, for a meeting that had no substance, no impact. I'd rather get the day off and enjoy my life than wasting my time just staring at executives getting the spotlight vomiting buzzwords and artists that make 1000 times more money than the typical TM makes... Save the money and give better bonuses.
If this is true I'm happy. FNM is such a massive waste of time and money.
