Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

TARGET - A culture of creating layers,then complaining about hierarchy, then "eliminating" layers,and then saying "we are embracing change"

This is a question to those who are still there...aren't you tired of all this bull? First they'll create a position, to knead their own ego's and show they are "driving growth"...then x months from creating that role,they will "right size" . And in this process, they will keep the @ss kissers/lickers and let go of the REAL TALENT. And worst of all, even if a layoff is not happening (which is their easiest way out), they will neglect and willfully NOT RECOGNIZE REAL TALENT and then frustrate them enough that THEY QUIT. Target... you are a great company, with godawful leaders. ESP TARGET INDIA TTS , FINANCE, MERCHANDISING. Now we what that the F in FFF is!!!

Yes , I agree with you Anon 7122. I have seen a quite a handful, who have played the " Woe be me! I am a divorcee" card to death, and stolen project ideas from even college grads and gotten quarterly awards! While I cannot undermine the struggles they would have gone through during their divorce, they wont (and have not in the past) bat an eyelid before victimising another female colleague who is going through personal issues,and take credit for their work. AND THE BEST PART? They are awarded,rewarded,recognized!

This is so sad..the target I joined 8 years back was so much fun and enthused with ideas so much so that it was leading in all fronts....the last few months have been horrible with cutoffs looming large ,projects cut to size...and now the core work force.no one is interested in working anymore and the ones remaining are all scared to speak up and work like zombies.This is just so unhealthy...some of my friends who were sent away are the passionate ones who worked hard not just for themselves but because they contributed till the last day unlike those leaders who attended meets and drank coffee.

To the great minds here who Tgt lost, please do the future generations a favor ... Go to Glassdoor and leave your review... No one looks at this forum while getting hired, but they look at it while joining a company. So leave a review there. No one takes this forum seriously, as it is supposed to be the vent for a few disgruntled souls, thus leave a review on Glassdoor. Those review show up when you do Google search for the company. You'll not believe how amazing a rating target has there! Which is faaaaaaaaaaaaar from the truth. I agree with all of you. The only way to rise to the top is to kiss ass and sleep with ( eventually marry if possible) a manager. It is not even frowned upon by the HR. I've known of glaringly undeserving individuals ( in this case all females ) whose career has grown faster than the germs on a homeless guy, just because they dated and married a manager... SAME PYRAMID .! So Wifey/Gf goes from PG7 TO PG13 in 18 months, and the person from whom she stole projects is now reporting to her... And I didn't take names because this is such a common occurrence !!!!!!
