The cuts are necessary for the company to survive! Employment can be attained outside of Target, for we are seeing this first hand. There is life after Target!

Previous cuts were based on right place right time, irrespective of whether the resource is good or bad. At least the future cuts will look at irrespective of where you are if you are bad you go. Every team knows the bad apple in their respective groups, but they have this cult mentality where they support each other, which is what killed target in first place, and if they don't fix it, it will be ongoing issue and will keep target down moving forward. For any new management it is difficult to fix it right away, hence the 2 years comment from BC. But that comment along with the approach they have taken in the first cut in March did create uncertainty, when you are in control of things life will be happy, when you are not it will be miserable.
I agree with OP way more useless heads prevail,at least in MSP, I recently moved to a new role where transformation is in full swing and I was hoping I will see better leadership, to my surprise my old boss was way better than the new one, all the new one does is relay the message to her boss by squeezing the information out of her DRs with zero leadership technical skills. Pathetic thing information we are sharing needs to be spoon fed to her, my 10 years old son can do a better job than her, if target ever wants to be there where they wanted to be, they better start bringing in new KMGs / 19s who actually have skills and identify the ones who provide zero value to the org and chuck them out. looking at the vision, thought of riding it out, as I was hoping for working in cutting edge technologies, but if I had to trade working with my current boss for kewl technologies(hoping), I guess I will pass, I started looking for right opportunity to move on, people who are confident they have skills to survive, can always take the call whenever they want.

And some are still looking. There are more laid off Target people than there are jobs in this state.
Correct on both counts. This is only the beginning of many more rounds of cuts, and there is absolutely life after Target. Literally each person that I know that has been shoved out the door has ended up with something better!
