I'm ready to turn in my notice but would like to find out if I'm being cut. If I thought it would save anyone a job I might turn in notice earlier but I doubt that will be the case.

Op, if your intent is do good, then just do it. Whether your action results in saving someone's job, there is no sure thing. When you donate to United Way or another charity, do you ask for assurance that your money will do good or do you donate because you wanted to contribute in some ways but with no promise of a good outcome? I think you want the big payout like the rest of us which is not a bad thing. Just stop pretending that you want to do good.
I don't think the OP said anything bad at all. There are countless folks who either plan to leave or fantasize about it right now. I can understand wanting to give "your place" to someone else who is wanting to stick it out. It's a very valid point.

Anonymous104557,
Just read your message. You're a complete and total idiot....
Too bad you think the worst about people, some people do care about their co-workers. However, if target wants to layoff someone it won't matter on what the open positions are...no one will be saving anyone's job by announcing their intent to leave before the layoffs.
OP you are full of crap. Way to mask your "I wish I could find out when cuts happen to save some other poor soul" when all you are trying to do is determine if you should wait a week or two for possible severance or cut your losses now. People on here aren't dumb, and your blatant lie is insulting. You want to know if cuts will be in the next week or two and if you should hold out giving your notice to see if you get severance or if you should do it now. Say that and be honest. I wouldn't have faulted your question if not for the fake attempt of caring about others.
Hopefully next week as advertised and then Target has figured out what they want to do with those poor soles remaining.
