Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Any rumors on moves to TNC? Look at the interesting article on the sale of our lease holders of the CC building.

I was searching for when the CC lease expires, as I have heard a few other companies are looking to move out from the building and found this article http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/blog/real_estate/2015/04/33-south-sixth-city-center-sold-cim-shorenstein.html

I did not know CC was purchased by another company! I was wondering if/when Target will get smart and move people to TNC and out of CC. Has anyone heard any rumors of moving of areas moving to TNC?

Last paragraph from the article:

Target Corp. is the largest office tenant, with a lease for about 800,000 square feet that expires in 2023 and has an option for Target to vacate some of the space sooner. Minneapolis-based Target eliminated about 3,000 headquarters jobs in March, but that apparently didn't dissuade CIM Group from the purchase.

Our leases for CC and TP3 were set to expire in 2014, which is why we bought TPC and expanded TNC, to threaten/negotiate lower rates on TP3 and CC. With all the layoffs, it will be just another negotiating chip to see who is willing to drop the rent even further to keep us.

Target North Campus was the worst decision Target ever made. A white elephant, a building that bleeds money.

They can't get rid of TCW. Technically it is not a HQ location. They can keep the call centers there and not give them the same benefits as the rest of HQ gets. I am hearing talks of all of the extra space at TNC on almost every floor.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Target move everyone out of TCW and then sell that building. Just a hunch, haven't heard any rumours....

There is a newer article from April 30th stating the the deal fell through. I don't think any building purchase deal would have any impact on Target. Maybe in 2023, but not now. TTS is re-stacking at least 5 floors in cc to be scrum spaces for agile teams.

I hear there is a lot of open areas at TNC. It does make some sense to move away from rented space to owned space. I see a lot of disgruntled people with a move like that though. It does not matter to me either way if I moved locations.

I would disagree that moving to TNC is getting smart... Infact I think it's a terrible idea unless the whole company moves there.
