Even after years of keeping the rest of the US revenue numbers afloat, Houston management finally weasled their noses in the business of the Rockies completions group one too many times. For years they've been trying to get us to play by their "rules", even though we are the only group steadily profitable. Our management group has a gift of screwing up a good system. And now decades of Weatherford completions experience is about to make a small competitor into a completions powerhouse.
It all came to a head when the decision came down to merge Pacific and Rockies areas into a new "Western Area". That's all well and good, except for the decision to bring the fledgling Pacific leadership in to replace the mammoth Rockies leadership. Big mistake, because now the mass exodus has begun.
Key roles have just begun to put in their resignations this morning. Area ops manager, district managers, technical mangers, engineering managers, field hands, engineers, shop hands, etc are headed out.
Evidently our management makes decisions shitty enough to both devastate a staple of revenue within our own company, as well as create a new competitor in a down turned market.
