Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Willis, TX NOV Layoffs

In the past 3 weeks, retirement package was offered to seasoned employees, and all temps were laid off. They have also cut major costs in every department including administrative positions down to blue collar workers in the plant. Heresy, of meeting scheduled for end of May to discuss closing Willis plants doors for good and letting everyone go. They laid off some really good people, and kept crappy ones that are all guilty of various offenses. Theft, racism, favortism, covering for employees that don't do their jobs and even promoting them, while others that have been doing everyone else's jobs get laid off. Tenorship no longer matters, and for some it can only get worse. Best of luck guys and gals.

Solids Control (old Brandt) is on the corner of TX 75 & FM 3083 which is considered North Conroe.

The Willis plant is on TX 75 & 7 Coves Rd right across TX 75 from Willis Highschool.

It is a former R&M facility which was a headquarters for R&M Energy Systems and mainly produced downhill pumps & power sections until NOV got its “meat hooks” on it.

What happened in the last 2 years , It wasn't like this when it was R&M . Its like they NOV just ran it into the ground head first . I agree some of the scum that's here now , I wouldn't piss in their mouth if their guts were on fire . A process manager that knows nothing about our business . A Maintenance manager that's so old he's a legend in his own mind . So much talent got let go and so much riff raff remain . I feel for everyone that has been laid-off . When we did 600 parts a week Buckets full of customer and now nothing . Tyrants and their killing us economic slaves . I pray for all of you and myself . God will take care of his people .

Yep, I too was laid off from Willis recently. Lots of stories from other workers about ll kinds of shady things going on. Hard to believe some of the people still there weren't the first to get laid off based on the sub-par work they were doing, while some who were doing well but were low on the totem pole ended up thrown in the dirt. Always a shame to see that. So many issues at that plant right now. Wouldn't surprise me if it was shut down soon.
