Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

Run while you can!

If you are a young professional in Denver, working in oil & gas, you should strongly consider a new career! This industry is is filled with liars and carpetbaggers. Check out WPX Energy and Linn Energy. Noble will be next! When it gets tough all of these guys run back to Texas or Oklahoma. It's what they know it's what they do. Or you will be downsized because of your age and salary.. ala Noble Energy. You will 50 years old with no job! Kids in college, etc.

All of these companies say all of the right things when prices are high... their true colors come out when things get rough, ala Noble Energy.

And today Pioneer Natural Resources announces it is closing it's Denver office and going to back and think things over in Texas. It is just a matter of time ... Noble will move you all to their Taj Mahal in beautiful Houston! These guys all think alike! The herd mentality is alive and well in this industry. It's what they know it's what they do!

Get ready to trade your Rockies hat in for an Astros hat.

sorry to disappoint but willingham is one of the "in crowd". look at the exec's bios on reuters - majority (including willingham) are Arco, Vastar, BP - in that order. don't believe he will be any different than the others...

You are right. Noble is in particularly bad shape because of terrible senior management. Stover, Fisher, Cunningham, etc. are a bunch of narcissists who don't relate to lower level managers much less to line workers -- but by-golly, they got GAP speak. The real questions are when will Willingham be promoted and will it happen soon enough to save the company? A buyout would be nice but one is not likely.
