Syntel has decided to fire 6000 in the month of April. No one knows the exact reason behind why Syntel is acting in such a way. Poor company targeting to reach 1 million dollars company from 2009. Now today even in 2015 they are not able to reach this target found only option to reach 1 million dollar mark only by firing the resources.
No one knows the criteria on which bases the a resource is fired. HR walks to the resource desk and say that today is your last working day.
When resource ask for an explanation the response he got was this is confidential we cant tell you. Mean you are getting sued and the reason for that is so called Confidential Very funny. It doesn't matter how critical you are, How much work you have done in the past,even if you have your H1B stamped or you are nominated for H1B(where most of the applications were not sent this year due to the layoff) no matter who you are you can be part of the layoff. Be ready for that.
I saw most of my friends been fired in the last two weeks and the count is still on, One way i feel very bad for the, All this days they have done a lot for Syntel and in return Syntel have given a beautiful gift for them for its successful completion of 35 years and the other way i feel they are lucky,Now the people who are fired may be jobless for maximum 1 month and definitely they would be in a better position after 6 months, Thinking thanks to Syntel for firing me on that day. And Syntel will be in the same positing again trying to reach 1 million dollar brand which would never happen
The problem with the Syntel is the management. We have people in higher level who are in Syntel for 10 to 15 years who does nothing but just take salary on time with high package and dump there work on their lower resources. Most of the projects moved out of Syntel Because of the poor Management. Finally when call comes saying we will have to fire 6000 resources we see only people who are of 1 to 5 years experience resources are targeted. I saw people people who got fired who has just joined in Syntel. When your Moto is to fire why do you hire Syntel. When Syntel is not able to show a project for them they would definitely be on bench. Resources being on bench is not a resource problem but the organization problem as they are not able to find a project for them.
And now i see all the resources in the company including me have started uploading there resumes in the Job portals and obviously the new ones would never prefer to join Syntel.
After 6 months Syntel would definitely be in need or resource and they will end up hiring resources who are not worst. Then as rumors are already in place that Syntel is planning to sell it off, that would become true.
Well lets see how things go in the future days. Hope best for all the people who were part of the layoff and who are still suffering in Syntel
