Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Updates from Impacted Employees

I was impacted on 3/10 and already have a new job - start on 4/1. Anyone else having any success? Interviews? Call backs? There's hope, folks.

Your 1st day is Wednesday April Fool's day? It is either a good thing or an ominous warning as to what is to come? Congratulations regardless.

As you've likely heard, "it's all who you know". This doesn't mean you need to know SVP's or Recruiters specifically. Instead, reach out to your friends, your co-workers (impacted and non-impacted), your college acquaintances, your former employers, etc. - use your network. While you may feel a little down at this time, there's nothing shameful about being laid off; it wasn't about your performance. Wrong place, wrong time, and your network knows it, so they're willing/wanting to help, as many of them have been in your shoes. Reach out and simply ask if they know of any jobs available, they likely do. But, one thing is for certain - now is not the time to be overly picky. And, now is not the time to flake-out on your network's help, so if something is shared with you, be respectful of the offer to help and take action on what's shared. You'll land somewhere quickly, but to use an analogy, you have to take the first step if you want to dance. Get after it!

Good to hear you already have a new job. What method did you find worked best in getting your resume in front of perspective employers?
