Since TI was not impacted for layoff there may some more worse things that can happen
Sell this Vendor who will clean this (layoff) and gets some guaranteed business ( Indirect money to clean)
Restructure teams and pass on divisions/groups to Vendor in the name of non value added units.
Create dirty environment to increase attrition to save brand name and money
Looks like the company which wants to buy Target India wants it to be cleaner ,so all the layoffs but just wait till September , they are selling TI for sure ...
Be mindful that different companies have different employment laws. Target is bound by whatever laws India has in place and that may influence the manner in which layoffs are processed/announced.
TI folks get severance. People that were in the system for 5+ years got good packages last time.
They never got anything and got to be in payrolls for 2 months to search a job.
