After watching so many talented coworkers get laid off on Tuesday, I really don't want to work for target anymore. Not to mention the fact that there is no job security over the next 2 years. I wish I would have been part of the layoff. Its like the Leftovers. The people left have to deal with the messy aftermath and pick up the extra workload. If they are planning more layoffs in April, can I volunteer and get the severance package? I just want out of this mess.

There are rumors that several people asked about "volunteering" to be laid off after the severance package was announced. Talk to your supervisor about it if you trust them. It may be available to you as an option and could potentially save another persons job as a result. I'm sure Target would prefer to keep people that want to stay as opposed to those who don't.
Too bad Target didn't offer some type of 'volunteer' program. Sounds like there are unhappy TMs that want to cash out. Now, others are stuck working with people who are miserable. This sucks!
Not to worry, there is another round coming. You might get lucky OP, you never know.
Target is basically forcing people to resign or leave the company on their own will now. Those that got laid off on Tuesday were the lucky ones.
