I was let go and feel great. By end of day yesterday, I had at least 10 people reach out to talk about new opportunities. In fact, I have 2 interviews this week already - both promising jobs here in the Cities. My conundrum is whether or not I take a new job ASAP (and get double-paid for 15 weeks+) or do I take some time off and try to land something in May or June. While I'd like do the latter, I'm not sure that's a good move, especially when I have opportunities in front of me. There are jobs out there folks. Use your network - they've likely all been in your shoes and are willing to help, especially in this difficult time. Don't be afraid to ask for help, your friends understand, and you'll be amazed at how much effort they're willing to put forth on your behalf. Why else do I feel great? No more $2 coffees, 3 times per day. No more $8 parking. No more $9 lunches. No more gas all the way downtown. Geez, by simply not working, I'm up $23 per day. Time for a normal gig, close to home, with free parking, and home brewed Folgers (from Wally World).

I was also laid off on Tuesday and couldn't agree more! Getting paid to find something better and no longer having to be in such a stressful environment - it's a win/win! Best of luck Target, transforming while performing, or whatever the new buzz phrase will be...
Congratulations! I simply wanted to respond to your post to wish you all the best, and what a fantastic attitude you have. Some new employer is going to be lucky to have you work for them.
I agree; it is amazing that i don't feel the stress and that I did in the past. I was let go back in Feb and have enjoyed the time to relax and look for my next role. I also have appreciated all the help that has been offered. Please reach out to anyone and ask for help and post job that you see that others might like on Linkedin for other to source from.
Good luck to everyone; we are all on a new adventure now.
Great post! I was let go on Tuesday and feel the same way. I'm sensitive that different folks have tougher circumstances- but for me this seems like such a blessing. I got paid a pretty nice severance to move on to something better. The job market is great for my skill set and it is very energizing and exciting. When talking to the people left on my former team- they are all miserable about the changes occurring and want to find a new job- severance was the better deal! Plus the weather is great to just get outside and enjoy life!
Awesome attitude.....good for you! Way to put a positive spin on things :-)
You are the best! I can't believe they lost someone like you. Keep it up.
way to go attitude :)
