Or "how to get the biggest bang for your lay off buck if you're a corporation": Cut lots of lower level / lower seniority team members (a 15 week severance package is way cheaper for a BA or associate than a 15 week package for a manager level). Brag to the media and remaining team members about how well those let go have been treated. Bury those left behind with workload and non sensical org charts. Wait for a those "would be expensive layoffs" to just quit. Remove remaining expensive manager levels with a second round of lay offs with a way crappier severance package that you don't brag to the media about.

And you also received an incredibly generous severance package. For some of you that could mean half a year or more in salary.
To those of you who were let go yesterday, it may not feel like it now but you dodged a bullet.
That's why I wish I was let go yesterday so I got that severance package they bragged about giving. Now I'm stuck with more work than ever and will have to leave on my own. Basically forced to leave on my own will with no fancy package on my way out. 10+ years with Target. I've loss all respect for this company.
Yup
Yup! That's about to go down.
