With the restructuring came a lot of bench/ swatch positions, particularly for Specialists. With 200 more in merch being cut in April, you can be sure the bench TMs will be part of that. The consultants have that all mapped out. It's part of the plan. That way they don't axe you based on your performance but instead get to cut you for non-placement. They were picked because they are either poor performers or are not likeable amongst their team. They are placeholders and serve no real purpose. They also bank on people leaving on their own due to restructuring after-affects with workload frustrations. The bench/swats are simply a safety stock. If no one leaves willingly, they'll pull out their wild card and send the swat sailing.

It's business. There is no sympathy.
Please let this be true. I was put on the "bench" after the reorg. I was praying I would be let go during the first round. By my calculations I would have parachuted out with almost 30 weeks total severance. If what you're saying is true my prayers are not only going to b answered, I'm going to bank another 4 weeks pay to basically do nothing in addition to the 30 weeks I will get next round. Bless your sweet heart for sharing.
Can they bench the executive team?
Sad how consultants view us as numbers and expendable goods. Where's the empathy?
