Layoffs are going on around here
The rumors have got us all in a fear
People wonder if they are the next to go
Why is this economy so stinking slow
My stomach is sick as I pull into work
Man, I think my boss heard me call him a jerk
Some voted with HOPE that we get through this soon
The folks on capital hill have all acted like loons
We are told with a bail out we will have work again
I just pray I make it to that happy end
No since in worry or over reaction
But you see my bank account has ran out of Jacksons
When it happens today what can you do
I will put applications in everywhere even down at the Zoo
