Target's much-trumped "Leadership Dimension" of being "Resilient and Adaptable" is nothing more than a way to blame YOU, the EMPLOYEE for not being ok with the fact that there is never, ever a sound strategy in place for ANYTHING. So rather than do the right thing - your recognition comes from simply rolling with the dysfunction. "Resilient and Adaptable" became an easy shield for all of these terrible, awful so-called leaders to get around the fact that they had no idea what the hell they were doing (examples...Canada, Target.com) and then hide behind it as a pathetic way to hold the rank and file accountable for the ensuing chaos. Guess what, Jodee...now comes a REAL test of my resiliency. And I'm going to adapt. Without you.

Triple that. The worst manager I have had in my 20 year career across 5 companies was here at Target. Told me once that I was and wasn't open to change and stuck in the current Target process. I had been at Target 18 months, and she was a Target 20 year lifer. She just didn't like to hear that her idea was completely asanine. She got promoted for creatively failing. Won't miss that nonsense.
Double Amen
I've found "resilient and adaptable" at Target means not having a opinion that differs from your leader and not making any waves.
