The CEO keeps talking about bringing back style to Target. Well there's nothing stylish about a mass lay off. More importantly, there's no style strategy being presented, other than making Target another CVS. Not chic. People could may be get behind the cuts if they thought something good was coming. It's a very different retail world and the company needs a visionary merchant to steer its ship.

The vision - Smaller CVS size stores that are a combination of an Apple store and Trader Joes for the millennial male. Even though they would much rather go to an Apple store and Trader Joes...and in many cases are still spending money from their soccer mom...who is no longer the target demographic. Good luck with that.
Great point! There's actually an opportunity here for someone (me) with iron clad confidence and ability to read next decade's zeitgeist.
