Be thankful. I was laid off in January and only got 1 wk/ yr severance. No health benefits. This package is 3x what I got. Be thankful.
How about bonuses? Did those eligible get their bonuses?
For those bitching about the severance package: be thankful you even got damn severance. Do you know how many people are laid off that get only a couple of weeks or worse... nothing? Over 3 months to find another job is amazing.
Yes, the 15 weeks are accurate, split into 9 on payroll and 6 paid as lump severance. No idea how India will be handled though.
Don't you love how they phrased that to spin it better? They added the 9 weeks or just over 60 days that they are required by law (WARN Act) to give you advance notice as part of their severance package. They had no choice on that 9 weeks. But I will say they still added another 6 weeks and 1 wk/year of service which is comparatively generous. Been laid off twice now from other retail companies locally in two years and got the 60days (law) and 1 wk per year. So Target at least threw in another 6 weeks...they didn't have to give you anything except the 9 weeks.
I know HRs in India are working(At least in this time) their ASSSSS out to prepare compensation chart, etc,,,, but, I know its hard and bad question to ask at this point of time but considering its all done, can anyone post details about severance package and compensation provided to US employees. I have read the mail from Jodee about 15weeks pay blah blah blah... But in reality what was given to them ??????

Laid off yesterday, It's actually the same deal--just phrased differently. I think they reworded it for the media. We're still on payroll through May (9 weeks) and then our severance is 6 weeks for a total of 15 weeks. On top of that there's year for service and vacation pay.
I have questions on this too. I was part of the Canada layoffs back in February and I am hearing that this severance was higher.
Can someone who was let go on March 10th please post the detailed breakdown of your severance package so we can compare?
