Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

There is life after Target

Quit with all the mellow-drama (boxes in the copier rooms, booked conference rooms, etc.). This is not the literal end of the world. Trust me when I tell you that there is life after Target and it's a good one. Every other Friday when your paycheck is deposited into your account, you and your employer are even - they owe you NOTHING more and you owe them NOTHING more. Whether you are impacted directly today or not, move forward knowing that there is no such thing as job security. Create your own security by saving money, managing your network and enjoying every day you get to wake up and breathe.

just a pay check? Really-its an investment of time-Its amazing the world we have become-Yes a company needs to transform over time-but a company should care about the people who are the company?

The first to go should be the board of directors!

This is all a downward spiral. No real creativity in fixing issues-how to drive sales! And looking at the "stocked" shelves in Canada? And when I walk into a Target today-Its the same old salesplanners I've been seeing for five years.

Former HR, I've stopped listening to you guys/gals in 1978. Huge impacts on many people's and their families' lives, but he/she doesn't care. Enough said.

Cause, you know, making a living isn't important. Just "mellow-drama" (I'm guessing your suggested form of security doesn't involve the English language).

Being laid off sucks. I've faced it before and then spent months trying to find a employment. Try keeping your hopes up when you're told once again that 200+ people applied for the same job but "you should be really proud that you made it this far." Bleh.

Wrong place, wrong time. Go mellow out elsewhere and quit stating the obvious.

F you. Yes, everyone knows the world is not ending, but don't diminish people's feelings. Career is a big part of a person's life and for some, Target is all they've ever known. Keep your nasty thoughts to yourself.
