Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Reading the reactions here, its clear to me there's quite a few layoff "virgins".

Please take it from me, an old shanghai whore who will share a bit of bedroom wisdom as I take a long drag on a post-coital cigarette before I stamp it out and mash it with my layoff whore 6" stiletto heels....

Yes, you'll be OK. A layoff is alot like a breakup. You think you're going to die and sh-t, and yet you rebound and go on to greener pastures. You'll also be surprised at how inventive and resourceful you become in your pursuit of a better career.

Love the shanghai surprise.....I have been laid off once or twice....and I have been laid on more than laid off. you will all be ok.....as long as someone is there to change your diapers.

Forgive me. I'm stressed and come here for info or something to ease the mind and instead I keep getting greeted with these ridiculous Facebook click bait stories and recycled email forward "heartbreak stories." Most of them are obvious fakery which makes the sentiment come off as BS. If you have advice, just spit it out and save us the stylized dear penthouse or church pamphlet drama fiction.

Stick to sucking dicks. There's no money to be made in poorly worded, frat boy pseudo-story advice. At least you didn't use the clichéd Tijuana donkey show story.

She's not proud she was laid off, she's proud of how she was able to turn it into a positive. As someone who has also been laid off (not from Target) I agree with her 100%. It's actually a good thing.

OP / Shanghai Layoff Whore here. It's nothing to be proud of, but it's nothing to be ashamed of either. As many of you are already discovering, the process is an absolute crapshoot devoid of merit.

Being laid off is not something to be proud of... Sure it's good to go through it once so you don't fear it as much in the future. I dealt with it once while I was young and care free but It's a much bigger deal this time around.
