I posted this earlier and got mixed responses. If anyone has any information and can support that evidence with logic, please reply. Just saying "You should be fine" or "Start looking elsewhere" isn't helpful.

I am in TA and we were told today that everyone who has offers and accepted them will have a job at Target. The 1400 open positions that were eliminated are positions that had not been filled. The way the wording was is that you will have a job at Target so my guess is there's a chance it may be a different role given the restructure. I recommend reaching out directly to your recruiter to get additional reassurance and any additional answers questioned. I hope this is at least somewhat helpful to ease your mind.
And to those Target employees and/or non-Target folks on this site please have respect to those asking genuine questions. Everyone's lives were impacted today in different ways and everyone needs to navigate their future.
A lot of recruiters were laid off today so good luck getting any information from them... BAs laid off as well. But.. Good chance they'll still need you after everyone quits due to the restructure. Go find a new job- you don't want to work here.
If you ask this week they absolutely won't know (even if they say they do), so I suggest waiting a week to email when more information will filter down. Recruiters are not on the same team as those making the no-go decisions on interns or rotation groups. If you have another option you might want to pursue it unless you're looking for a huge challenge and are committed to riding the wave over the next three years as they completely transform.
People on this board have their own issues. Put on your big boy or big girl pants and call your recruiter.
I hope that the people responding rudely to this young adult are not Target TMs. If so, I pray you were hit today or in the near future.
In 2008 Target had their last large layoff. At that time, they cut interns and TLP's. They had trouble attracting new talent from the large school college fairs for a couple of years and learned their lesson (hopefully). Good luck, contact your recruiter and hope to see you after you graduate.
what is a BA?
Dear OP: I'd say it is doubtful that anyone reading this board knows or can say at this time. You are going to need to be a little patient until you can talk to someone left in recruiting. In the meantime, personally, if it were me, I'd be coming up with a contingency plan, just in case.
Come on, Captain Obvious. You will not be starting in June.
Stop asking. Call your recruiter for details. You post on every mpba thread and no one knows right now.
Why would you want to work for a company that treats their employees like that this? The people telling you to use this time to find a different job are being helpful.
It depends what area you are in. All TSS BAs were laid off today. If you are supposed to be in the TSS BA class, it's not going to happen as the position has been eliminated.
Yes, you are safe. The company just let go of almost 2000 people this week (many of them current BA's) and announced it will not be filling another 1700 open positions but BA's not yet on the payroll and not scheduled to start 3 more months will obviously be spared. Are there any other ambiguous situations that you need clarified for you?
You will be fine
From my understanding when we were briefed by our director, those BA classes are still on.
....another 1,400 positions will remain unfilled. " MPR news
At this point ask the recruiter if they can confirm on your position, but I think given Targets state it is fine loking for another job given they have pulled offers in the past.
Anonymous79118 - the person who hired the OP is likely not with the company any more
Search this board for words rescinded and target - there were a few threads on this.
Contact the person who hired.
Are you really asking this question? (again?) If you don't get it.... I am not sure you have completed your education yet. Of course your job is GONE. The just laid off 1700 people! Put your degree (if there is one) to work and think about it. And the 1400 positions they are not filling. That would be yours.
I doubt our recruiters would tell us anything at this point considering how fresh the layoff action is. Looks like we're going to have to play the waiting game here OP
It will be a no. They got rid of all open positions so why would they hire new BAs?
You are getting those answers because nobody knows. Ask your recruiter (who will not tell you either)
