When I worked in real estate, and had slow times, I remember thinking that God controlled all the real estate transactions in Santa Clara County — and that He could give me 100 sales today if he wanted to.

In the same way — God is in complete control of your employment. Not that you can skip networking, interviewing, sending out resumes, and praying for a job. God will work through your efforts. But He is in complete control of the outcome.

God will provide the job and income you need.

That’s what Jesus promises in Matthew 6:33 —

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

This 'God is in control' mentality is the same core belief that the crazies in ISIS have. It's ludacress. God can't give you 100 real estate sales today. Attitude, hard work, chance and fate can. Allah will make our mission successful, says Isis. Blind faith placed within someone else is scary. Believe in yourself. Create your own ideas. Create your own reality.

Is it ironic that the people that poke fun of someone's faith are perhaps being the most self-righteous. If you don't agree with someones faith just ignore it..why be so mean and nasty??? I'm sure you think of yourself as enlightened open-minded and nonjudgmental so why don't you use that paradigm when when interacting with Christians just as you would do for anyone else????

I also feel that if someone was to post a quote from a Buddhist Proverb or Confucius or just a good quote anything other than Christian that contained equal words of wisdom and hope I don't think that the reaction would be so nasty why the hate on Christians. The person that wrote this original post was just trying to be helpful that is all!

Each of us holds onto something outside of ourselves in times of challenge and hurt. Ours was a country founded on freedoms. I can only assume that those of you who find it necessary to be critical of a loving comment of comfort have been hurt by the beliefs of others at some time or another. I for one welcome all words of comfort. In a world of hate I am filled with peace when others express love toward me. I really do not believe the person is trying to convert simply support. Lighten up and let others support you! Thank you all for your support at such a challenging time.
