Our department just received invites for a meeting tomorrow morning. All my peers got it and it is for the same room. I am almost positive we are not all getting let go. So how does it work when the invites go out? Do they invite everyone to the same room and then divert certain people to the room next store to get the bad news?

Most importantly - who is the meeting organizer (or what department are they if it's a real person), and is this a private meeting? What is the meeting topic?
The layoffs that happened two weeks ago were done in 1 big room BUT if its a whole team I would imagine its just an annoucenment
If you want to keep your jobs quit voting for liberals! Dayton pretends he cares to get votes, but if he gave a crap, he would lower taxes since ours are one of the highest in the nation and businesses cannot be competitive here. The gov't cannot and will not ever 'save' you; capitalism is not perfect but it's a far better cure for poverty than anything else - America is extremely young and so successful - why do you think that is? Because you get knocked down and you get back up. Gov't thinks fair is everyone being the same and getting the same - well that never works because some people work harder, take risks; fail; start over, that is life--- there are winners and losers and you get to decide what that means for you. Take charge of your own life - this is just another bump in the road
What team are you on?
If you want to keep your jobs quit voting Republican and starting leaning Democratic/Socialist. Socialist take care of their communities, and provide jobs to all. They don't have COE's with names on buildings and COE's making 5M per year including benefits. So we can't complain. As long as we have a job we never complain until we lose it. SAD but this is America. It’s about survival of the fittest, making money, and not giving everyone a job. Sucks I know. But if you truly care about ALL people then we need to change the way we do business. What’s the first thing you see when annual statements go out. They talk about ROI. They want 10%. You don't see a goal that says our first priority is our people. NEVER. Good luck to everyone.
Usually when the whole team is called to one room, it's a team announcement about the layoffs. I suppose it could be your whole team being laid off, but if you think that's unlikely, then it's probably an announcement.
They don't send those out the night before. It's the day of, after 8am. Two 15 min updates those laid off go first, those who stay go second and are updated while the others are in the mtg.
That's past. Not sure how it will operate with this large of an operation.
what pyramid
