Coffee status is actually the strength of target to drive aligned decision. It is how it differentiate them from others

Former marketing team member. A coffee status is a literal thing. You basically set aside 15 or 30 minutes with somebody and get coffee at one of many numerous locations. Starbucks in the cafeteria at TPS, or the starbucks outside the downtown store, or the caribou by US bank, or the Au Bon Pain by city center, or Starbucks on the first floor, you get the idea.

I used coffee statuses to clear the air with colleagues over difficult issues, or just catch up. It's not a bad thing, but its another data point on how hypersocial the culture is there, to the point where relationships are placed way way way about substance. But if that's the world you live in the coffee status is a good way to sometimes get decisions made.

It's Target speak...... Lingo for trying to be seen and network. Enormous amount of energy and time spent on meaningless nonsense meetings trekking through the skyways. Let's have a "coffee" may not even involve caffeine.

'Coffee Status' is when people put networking ahead of actually doing work

It is suppose to be a status to talk about work over a coffee.

I think people like to poke fun at them as some people abuse them, to waste time, brown nose, ect...
