Last year we were told about the layoffs in our own meeting that was later in the day, after those that were negatively affected were notified. It is crazy though how much money gets wasted around here. Our refresh process had us refreshing assets for tts every 3 years and everyone else 4 or 5 years depending on where they were. Logistically it was a nightmare and had us contracting out Dell at nearly a half million dollars to simply swap out PCs. Leadership and their decisions in regards to off-shoring and relinquishing control of vital services to external vendors is such a mess. They hire vendors that are 'cheaper' only to spend more in the long haul due to them being far less efficient. A great example of this is when they laid the tools team off and gave the ServiceNow support to another vendor. That vendor made a mess of things and Target had to bring in a specialized vendor 'fruition' which came in to resolve things. Ironic thing is they sent in the Target team member that they hired after Target laid them off. Now Target had the same person and paid twice as much for their time. Craziness.

There is no proof or reliable metrics that offshoring really saves money yet companies continue to do it.
