I mentioned last week that a good friend in HR advised me that there would be a good number of terminations today, mostly director and manager level. That appears to be happening now. She mentioned that the main blood bath would begin tomorrow, which is pretty certain now. What makes me very nervous is that she has told me that the actual number of terminations is going to be much higher than what was originally reported to analysts and the media. So far she is spot-on in what she has told me, so it has me fearful that the cuts may be a larger number and deeper than what we have thought.

If you're going to make posts like this, at least give the number your friend gave you versus what you're saying the analysts are saying.

Yeah, define "much higher" and define what the media said. Because the media has said "thousands"....so what is much higher than thousands? millions?
Any idea if those let go will be gone immediately or stay on for a period of time?
HR doesn't know sht. The very (very*) few people who do know are not going to spill the info to "friends." I call BS.
Does this "friend" know the specific areas in marketing that will be affected?
