I have a feeling that while there will be layoffs, there will still be others that get a promotion through all of this. I have been through a layoff at another large employer and this is exactly what happened. Some directors became VPs with more DRs while others were let go

Back in the 2009 massive layoff we lost half our team and the very next day I was promoted. That felt awkward.
Layoffs wont change anything. One of the hr talent acquisition manager became GM in 2013 and SGM after jan 2014.
Target is a place where you are not sure of anything. A friend of mine was promoted and fired the same week. He was part of oct 2013 layoffs
