Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Who will it be

Raise your hand if 1 in 6 people you know at target don't do sh!t! Those are the people I'm hoping are let go next week. Heaven help us if we end up getting rid of good people and keeping the ones dragging us down. I'm guessing it will be a mix.

Snowflake, 80% done is what leads to 20% layoffs. That attitude is exactly the problem with bloated corporations.

Wow, so much hate for people who find time to socialize! Some may be slacker but maybe some do a better job of time management? Perhaps they get their work done more efficiently than you? Perhaps 80% done is good enough while those who are constantly busy may work toward 120% done when there is no meaningful diffrence in value?

I agree with 600- good ppl are going to get caught up in this shitstorm.

Having coffee and going to meeting after meeting, planning yet another meeting or having statuses makes you busy, not productive or valuable.

I think the decision on "who" will come from pretty high up, and will be based on position/title and not person or the value they add. Pretty sure KMG's don't have any say in this.

@561 - Just because you are busy does not mean you are providing value. The tasks and things that are done now may not exist in the "new Target"

Our group is busy as f***. If people aren't busy they should go.
