although I do believe in the future a lot of our job could be automated I just don't see how Brian could turn that processes around so quickly. For a lot of import business, tons of orders and commits are due next week and we are just starting plan. If anyone actually thinks they could just could just cut us out with no warning to the vendors, sourcing team, etc. then that's crazy. I just don't think it's possible yet.

From what I understand, middle management is the level that they're most looking to cut, which I doubt anyone disagrees with. I completely understand the logic - layers of approval are what slows us down. The people actually performing 50+ hours' worth of work per week should not be in jeopardy - and in most cases, their salaries wouldn't make much of a dent anyway. As a middle manager myself, I'm very sad to go, I've loved working my way up through the ranks, and I wish I could continue to contribute more. But as a shareholder, I fully support this move.
MPBAs are not all getting fired. No system has cracked the code of being an MPBA just yet. Especially not in 6 months. There are thousands of useless jobs at HQ. MPBA are some of the only people that actually work. People are afraid. MPBAs are just easy bait.
That's why he's getting paid the big bucks and not you.
