He summed it spot on. Intel is a slow sinking ship. Slow because it's a big ship. In order to compete in the mobile space they will need to bean count everything because the competition is so fierce. What this means to the employees is lower bonuses, they will work you harder, and say good bye to the glory days. No soup for you!

I know Intel's tactics first hand. They call it VSP.. But it really turns out to be more like, "you don't have to take it but if you stay on and you come late to the next meeting I can fire you on the spot and you get nothing... Ahh but its up to you .." BTW.. I was one of those senior engineers that just cracked into the six figures.
