One thing runs through every single post here, and that's complete frustration with the entitled sorority sisters that are pervasive at TGT.
You're at f***ing work, wear something appropriate. Just because you are on trend doesn't mean you wear jeans with torn knees or yoga pants to work. Nobody respects that and its contributing to the anger being targeted towards you on this board.
Why? Because you use terms like "hate on" to address a serious business topic. I hope you get to keep your job. You don't deserve to be on the street as a result of leadership pissing away BILLIONS on worthless initiatives or because they would rather pour additional BILLIONS into stock buy backs because they value shareholder value above your livelihood. However, you need to appreciate that you have been raised in the fish bowl that is Target. Grow up, act like, an adult, and realize that you should have left your clique mentality back in your high school cafeteria.
The problem is that merch are 90% of the people we seem roaming the skyways having "meetings" and "GTKY" at Caribou for hours. Merch is also the most easily replaceable position, the department with the most filler postions (Associate, Buyer, Senior Buyer, Manager, Senior Manager, Director, Senior Director, VP, SVP, EVP), and in my opinion easily automated at some level.
The yoga pants keep me coming back! It is nice break from the COBOL code ;-)

Apparently, some people believe we are still in high school. Who cares what people wear? If there is a dress policy in place and no one enforces them, they are probably not that important. Probably vent your frustration toward people who are supposed to enforce the dress codes and not at the people who may dress inappropriately.

Anonymous75612-The problem is that some of us are held to a business standard while others are free to flaunt the requirements proving that there are different rules for different people, even with the mantras of a unified "team", and that's not helping internal relations. I shouldn't be expected to wear a top hat and spats to do my job while someone else comes in with blown-out jeans and a crop top.

Um-- I'm not in Core Merch anymore and have been around the target block a few times and date back to when City Center was our only HQ. Do you not realize that we hire people to buy, design, source products that 20-30 year olds would wear? Do some people push the limits with dress code? yes! Would I expect to see our A&A designers and merchants walking around in Polos and slacks? no! Step back and stop being so critical of others.
