Honestly I have a lot of work to do, but how the heck am I supposed to concentrate when this chaos is going on...seems redicioulous to work so hard if the end result is I might just get laid off anyways. I think I may take up some of these "coffees" and "status" I hear all about on this board..

Curl up in a ball in your cube and hug the directors award you won in 2010 for figuring out how to use vlookups.
Well, consider the impact if you're NOT laid off. You'll still have work waiting for you. So do whatever you have to do so you don't screw yourself over if you're laid off next week.
We'll all get through this lay-offs. Two things to remember: 1. It's a job, do your best, and 2. Our main priority is the customers. When my dad was in Vietnam, one of his commanding officer yelled at him, "You served under me!" and my dad responded respectfully back, "with all due respect sir, I'll fight and die for the American and Vietnamese people, not you, sir."
it's ok, do what you have to do to get though this.
you're not.
