Has anyone heard of any Marketing areas getting touched by this? Just curious!

When does a corporate empire it's been burning for years! For example a painted dog that flys on its own jet with a 20 member staff! Wake up Target your overhead is bleeding the company!
Wow, alot of misconceptions in this thread and other threads about what people do.
It seems popular to shit on the Circular team, but keep in mind they are still the biggest money maker at Target (even with all the digital growth, etc etc etc).
I know a few people over there. It's true there is a mix of talent (a few people should have been let go of ages ago). The good designers over there though are some of the best Target has. And, it really would be a shame to see them go. Some of the recent work I saw them working on is the nicest I've seen while I've been at Target.
There seems to be weird misconceptions of their job. Most of them are in the studio only once every, I think month and a half or so. It's not them sitting at a studio every week. And like someone said, clearly you don't understand what an Art Director does. Have you seen every other circular out there? Target's has for years been the industry leader in design.
Also, they haven't had catered lunches for shoots (unlike the rest of Target Creative when they go on shoots) in years. They did away with that I think 4 or 5 years ago.
If you've seen the photography the internal team does, it can't hold a candle to the "over paid" freelance photographers.
What the team over there really needs is merchants to just prioritize and get out of the way. From what I hear it's incredibly difficult to design when 50 merchants all claiming that their product is the most important on the page and overpopulating every single page.
Again, not sure why everyone is shitting on it. If they kill it, it would be a terrible business decision. As much as print is dying, there is nothing that comes close to replacing the reach and impact of the ad.
Be nice guys.
Clearly you have no idea what an art director actually does. Yes some aren't the greatest, but it is a necessary position if you want your photography to look good. Where do you think we would be without your creative counterparts?
All they do is sit in a photo studio (that target pays to rent even though they own two) and get their ass kissed by overpaid, freelance photographers and then have a catered expensive lunch, every day. Goodbye !
This is getting ugly. Please stop.
i agree with the art director for circular comment. there are some great ones but also a lot of entitled lazy ones.
Get rid of half the "art directors" for circular ad, they literally do nothing.
