Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Conference rooms being blocked @ TNC

Just had two conference rooms taken away from me in TNC-E next week by CRE "We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause, but this room will be offline from March 10th until March 13th 2015."

Obviously not proof of anything but certainly not comforting to those of us who were hoping we might get spared round 1 given the few hundred folks we lost a couple weeks ago. As a PA, I'm fairly confident I'll be packing a box Tuesday, I can't imagine anyone in our job family is going to be around very much longer. Unless they are going to eliminate our managers and put us in their place (since many of us basically do our manager's job at a pay grade or two lower).

OK - sorry, just looked again and now rooms at CC are getting blocked and booked! Some on Monday, many more on Tuesday

But how many PAs are there? Doesn't seem like that'd fit with the DEEP cuts we're all expecting. At least the PAs I work most with are great, would hate to see them go.

The other odd thing, is that a big push this year has been to, "always remember what's best for Target overall..." but it seems like these cuts are being made at a high-level (above VP) where no one would really know the value of the individual positions? VPs admitted this with some of the non-direct-Canada related layoffs earlier this year.

For those who remain at Target, it would seems antithetical and much harder to buy into long-term.

I'd much prefer if at a Director or Sr Group Manager be told to cut X positions, at least then I'd have some faith that the "right" cuts were being made.

All large public conference rooms at Plaza, CC, TCW and TNC have been taken offline all of next week.
